WaterLinks Participation: Indonesian Water Forum 2018
Ms. Yoly Gomez (WaterLinks WOP Facilitator), participated in the Indonesian Water Forum 2018 held from 9-10 July 2018 in Batam, Indonesia. Organized by PERPAMSI (Indonesia Water Supply Association), the annual event provided an ideal venue for Indonesian water utilities (PDAMs) to discuss current issues in the water sector and engage in relevant fora covering water business, water operators partnerships (WOPs), and various other technical themes essential to water utility operations. PERPAMSI is a long-term WaterLinks partner in implementing WOPs in Indonesia.
Ms. Gomez presented the WaterLinks experience in the implementation of WOPs across Asia and the Pacific, with a special focus on climate change adaptation WOPs and climate change adaptation training.
A number of PDAMs present expressed interest in the WOPs program of Waterlinks and their willingness to become recipients if there is an opportunity in the future. They also expressed interest in the forthcoming 2018 WaterLinks Forum subject to the approval of PERPAMSI and their respective budget. In closing, Ms. Gomez informed the PDAMs that Waterlinks will be extending a special package for those who are interested to participate in the 2018 WaterLinks Forum.
