EU-WOP Programme Open Call for Proposal

Bonn, Germany, 15 January 2021 – The EU-WOP Programme has launched a call for proposals for not-for-profit peer partnerships. This is the first step in a four-year Programme, financed by the European Union and implemented by GWOPA UN-Habitat, supporting water and sanitation utilities through Water Operators’ Partnerships (WOPs).

EU-WOP Program 2021-2024 to be launched

The European Union (EU) is set to open a call for proposals for WOPs Projects soon. Each project, which will have a period of 36 months, is expected to have a grant of between USD 250,000 to USD 450,000. The Global WOPs Alliance (GWOPA) will oversee this process, channel funds to the projects, provide project support, and lead the monitoring, reporting, and communications of all projects.

In the 1st and 2nd cycles of the award, 20 applicants, including individuals, pioneering organisations, and research centres, were awarded for their innovative models that produce clean water using solar power. While the two previous cycles were successful, Suqia UAE is pleased to announce the expansion of the scope of the award to include new technologies that produce, distribute, store, monitor, desalinate and purify water using renewable energy.

ANNUAL FORUM - is a two-day congregation of operators, utilities, policymakers, thought-leaders, tech providers, and stakeholders from the urban water, sanitation and wastewater sectors principally from across Asia and the Pacific. It is a venue for generating practical solutions, cultivating innovations, and inspiring synergies to address present and future challenges in Asia’s water operations – particularly challenges stemming from climate risks and uncertainties.   << Read More>>
