WaterLinks through USAID facilitated a twinning partnership between Vietnam's Danang Water Supply Company (DAWACO) and Philippines' Manila Water International Solutions (MWIS), a subsidiary of the Manila Water Company, to help DAWACO to deliver safe water supply to its 99,000 customers in Danang.
The partnership built on DAWACO's 2007 Water Safety Plan, which identified improving water quality management in the water production process and in the water distribution network as priority issues. The partnership supported DAWACO to implement the Plan and focused on: (1) establishing sound processes of quantifying and controlling chemical dosage; and (2) ensuring safe and proper chlorine levels and water quality control in the distribution network.
