On August 23, 2011, during the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) “Eye on Asia” session as part of the Stockholm World Water Week, USAID’s Environmental Cooperation-Asia (ECO-Asia) Water and Sanitation program presented ongoing activities on water operator partnerships (WOPs) under WaterLinks. The presentation highlighted WOP activities and results funded by USAID and ADB to date, and the transition of WaterLinks as a network into an independent organization. With more than one hundred attendees, the session generated greater awareness of WOPs as a tool for capacity building. USAID and ADB are continuing to seek strategic partnerships under WaterLinks as well as support from various institutions to ensure the network is able to meet the increasing demand for WOPs facilitation.
