On November 22, 2011, more than 60 water services providers, practitioners, and development agencies convened at the 3rd Annual WaterLinks Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to share information and experience on new directions in water operators partnerships. Organized by USAID, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Water Association (IWA), the forum focused on key factors for successful partnerships, and effective modalities for scaling up and replicating good practice, including expanding the role of national water associations based on recent efforts by Indonesia and the Philippines. WaterLinks also disseminated its new facilitation guidelines for use by facilitators and operators in ensure successful partnerships.
