WaterLinks is a regional partnership network established by the Asian Development Bank, the International Water Association and the United States Agency for International Development to promote and support Water Operators Partnerships in Asia. Through a cooperative arrangement, WaterLinks development partners leverage on each others’ comparative advantages and pool resources together to effectively and efficiently facilitate and broker new partnerships between water and wastewater utilities to improve performance.

The 2009 WaterLinks Forum is open to all water and wastewater utilities, water associations and networks, and international donor agencies to raise awareness and generate interest in the WaterLinks program.

Specifically, it aims to achieve the following objectives through a series of plenary sessions and small group discussions over the course of the two-day event:

  • Promote benefits of utility partnerships
  • Examine key elements and prerequisites for effective utility partnerships
  • Attract more utilities and donors to participate in WaterLinks
