Da Nang Water Company
Located along the coast in Central Vietnam, Da Nang is the fourth largest city of Vietnam with an area of 1,255.53 km² and total population of 752,493 people (as of 2003). The Da Nang Water Supply Company (DAWACO) provides continuous water supply (24 hours/day) for its 99,000 customers through three treatment plants. Estimated water loss is at 40%. In response, DAWACO plans to improve its overall water quality management by ensuring safe and proper chlorine levels and water quality control in the distribution network; developing procedures and programs to clean and maintain water supply pipelines; strengthening water sampling, sampling analysis, and evaluation processes; improving laboratory practices; and building staff capacity. |
